Cody was born in Vancouver on July 2nd, 1984 and died tragically September 14th 2005 while attending Bishops University in Lennoxville, Quebec.
He grew up in Vancouver and Surrey/ White Rock, loved people, travelling, snow boarding, soccer and music. He was a drummer for the Morning Wood Band at Bishops. Important to Cody were his close family in BC and in Ontario and his many friends. He demonstrated how he valued all those around him through his kindness towards others.

He loved rugby, playing for Semiahmoo High School as well as the Bayside Rugby Club. He was captain of his team at Semi, before moving on to Bishops University where he played for the Gaiters Rugby Team, becoming co-captain at the start of his 4th year. Cody was often commended and won awards for his leadership and inspiration to his team mates.

The Bayside Rugby Club is a young club located in Surrey/ White Rock. The club has created strong players with strong values. Alumni of the Club have played on the Canadian National Teams. The Club has won the under 15, 16 and 17 as well as the BC Championships. It is thanks to the coaches, volunteers and all those involved in this Club that Cody loved the game and gave his heart to his team mates.
Laurie and David Triggs, along with Bishops University, sponsored Rich Fettke to come and speak about "Risking Right". Emma Stewart summarized the event in an article for the campus news:
All proceeds from events will be donated to the Bayside Rugby Club to assist them in the building of their new clubhouse. Cody would be proud to witness the results of these great events and the legacy created in his memory.
